Highly recommend. My dogs are my family, not just pets, so I experienced a lot of anxiety around finding someone to be responsible for them while I was at work; then Mark entered the picture. He is obviously an animal person. He takes time to sit on the floor/couch and play with the dogs, getting to know each dog and their personality. He walks my dogs three times a week, consistently and reliably on schedule. 

When I come home from work they are noticeably less stressed from being alone, because they had 40 - 60 minutes with Mark. And it's also very nice to get a mid-day picture of their adventures. My one Rat Terrier (Moxie, seen in left pic) is cautious around new people, sometimes not warming up to them for months. Within the second day, Moxie had decided that Mark was safe and a friend.

Do you remember me?  I was your pet sitter for 1.5 years.  Due to my client moving, I have not seen Leonard for nearly 6 months. 

I entered his new Boulder home and was jumped on, tackled, and smothered with kisses --  he was out of control with excitement. 

Keithy do you remember me?  She was a bit reserved when I entered the home.  Prior to moving to Boulder, I only watched her a handful of times.  After a few minutes, she gave me a combo of kisses and nips to the nose (she still needs to learn how to kiss).

Working with Mark at On the Fly pet sitting has been so easy and convenient. Mark is incredibly easy-going and it is easy to tell that he has a genuine love for animals. I have a 4 month old puppy and a five year old dog who have very different needs. I find watching my puppy pretty challenging sometimes but it is never an issue for Mark! My dogs love his yard and I feel like they are getting their own little vacation when I'm out of town. Another huge plus is the price - I've normally paid around $55 for each dog, but Mark charges $55 for two dogs which is a huge cost saver for me. I highly recommend using Mark's services if you are going out of town and want your dog to be comfortable and happy!

This past weekend, Gus and our family attended the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Adventure Expo, held at Cherry Creek State Park.  The expo featured tons of outdoor educational opportunities for kids -- think archery, fishing,  rock climbing, camping, biking, rowing, sailing, bushcraft, and lots more.  At every exhibitor station, Gus quickly befriended anyone who would play ball with him.

Washington Park Denver Pet Sitters

Meet our new Denver friends, Hugo and Eloise.  Both are Golden Retrievers.  Eloise loves her belly rubbed so one of our kids started calling her Ellie-Bellie.  Hugo loves to go for walks and play fetch in our backyard.

In the near future, Eloise and Hugo will be staying with us for longer periods of time -- up to seven days.  As a result, I recommended an introductory 24 hour pre-trial.  By doing this, the dogs get to know their new environment, reduce transition stress, and/or better adjust when they are dropped off for longer services times.  In other words, we become very familiar to them -- this can be critical for breeds with strong attachment behaviors.

With lots of love and attention, both are glued to me,  following me step by step.

Weekend with Willie: Washington Park Pet Sitters

 

We spent the holiday weekend in Denver, watching our new client Willie.  He's a five year old German Shorthaired Pointer, and a former competitive field dog.  One minute he's pointing at Washington Park squirrels and geese, and the next he's fetching tennis balls.  He's one of the very best dogs we have ever watched!  He has it all -- intelligence, charm, playful energy, and he's very lovable.
